Bridge Day License Plates

In partnership with the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, we are working with the DMV to get a special plate dedicated to Bridge Day. In order to proceed, we have to obtain at least 100 paid applications before August 3, 2026.

How do I get a Bridge Day license plate?

Print a copy of the application below and fill it out. Submit that along with a check for $91.50 made payable to the Fayette County Community Foundation. You can drop it off at the Chamber of Commerce or mail it to FCCF- BD, 310 W. Oyler Ave., Oak Hill, WV 25901.

Can I request a number?

Unfortunately, license plate number requests are not available.

What will it look like?

That’s the fun part! We submitted some ideas to the DMV. Once they know that we have interest and 100 committed applicants, they will get to work taking our ideas and designing a plate that works to fit our wishes and follows all of the other rules that a license plate has to follow.

How much does it cost?

The initial application is $91.50 which cover the cost of the license plate and your registration for the year/portion of the year it comes out. Please note that printing and credit toward your registration is not immediate and may take 18+ months for the first batch of plates to be printed.

What vehicles are eligible?

Only vehicles with Class A plates that are titled in West Virginia are eligible.

How is my vehicle registration affected?

Until the Bridge Day plate gets printed, you will handle your registration like you normally do. Once they approve the final plate and start printing, you will receive yours which includes registration for the year it is released. All special plates expire July 1 of each year regardless of when it comes out. Then for your following registration, you will pay the DMV a renewal fee of $65/year.

What does the process look like?

We have submitted some design concepts to the DMV. Once they know there is enough interest (that initial 100), they will get designing and work out a final design involving all parties (us, printers, DMV, etc.). This could take 18-24 months. Then they will issue plates to those who registered. If your information changes prior to receiving your plate, please submit that information to us and we will update the DMV application for you.

What happens if the FCCF doesn’t get 100 applicants?

If we don’t get enough interest, then the project stops and we refund your money to you via check. (Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen!)
