OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide a welcoming venue that strengthens the tradition of local giving, empowering donors to support healthy living, the arts, education, and community‑building opportunities in Fayette County.

COMMUNITY NEED & OPPORTUNITY

Fayette County is full of people who care deeply about their communities. Every day, organizations, volunteers, educators, artists, community leaders, and residents are working to create opportunities and improve quality of life throughout the county.

At the same time, many worthwhile projects and initiatives face common challenges: finding resources, building partnerships, attracting volunteers, and connecting with people who want to help.

The Fayette County Community Foundation exists to help bridge those gaps. By encouraging local giving, supporting collaboration, connecting community partners, and helping resources stay local, we work to strengthen the organizations and initiatives that make Fayette County a vibrant place to live, work, and play. Our focus includes healthy living, the arts, education, community spaces, and other opportunities that help communities thrive.

Together, we can build on the good work already happening and create lasting impact for future generations.

Community Impact

There are big ideas for how to build what our community needs and equally important ideas for improving what we already have. By supporting community‑led efforts and working together, we believe meaningful progress happens through steady, shared action.

Community Projects

The people who live and serve in Fayette County understand its needs best. We seek to support community‑based initiatives led by local organizations whose work aligns with our mission, values, and commitment to public benefit.

Our role may include fiscal sponsorship, donor engagement, or helping connect resources to community needs. We do not manage projects directly.

Public Recreation Spaces

Parks, fields, courts, disc golf courses, and other public recreation areas play an important role in community life. These spaces provide opportunities for physical activity, social connection, and outdoor enjoyment for residents of all ages. We support community-led efforts that improve accessibility, safety, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of public recreation spaces throughout Fayette County.

Some community goals require time, planning, and broad collaboration. As a 501(c)(3), the Foundation may serve as a fiscal sponsor for select charitable projects that align with our mission and values, enabling local groups to pursue funding or fundraising opportunities that require nonprofit status and financial oversight.

Fiscal sponsorship does not guarantee funding and may involve an administrative fee to support responsible stewardship.

Educational Support

Education and lifelong learning are central to a thriving community. We support educational and skill‑building opportunities, including donor‑directed scholarships and community learning initiatives, as resources and partnerships allow.

Local Arts & Creative Programs

The arts inspire creativity, connection, and community pride. We support programs and projects that expand access to the arts, celebrate local talent, and create opportunities for residents to learn, participate, and connect through creative experiences.

Youth & Adult Programming

Many facilities across the county already serve local residents but may benefit from expanded or enhanced programming. We support community‑led efforts that create meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to learn, gather, and participate through programs, equipment, or shared resources.

The Foundation operates with a volunteer board and currently does not have staff; our work is guided by stewardship, collaboration, and community partnership.
